Zhen’s 10 Tips for Creating More Balance and Harmony in Your Day

1) Wake up with a Smile

The weather changes everyday but you can learn to be happy by making it a habit. Decide to make smiling your first action everyday. Try it for 21 days and lock it into your subconscious.

2) Get Moving

Exercise increases the feel good hormones in your brain. You’ve heard it before but 30 minutes a day is enough to make lasting positive change to your waistline and your world view.

3) A Place for You

Somewhere in your home create your own special corner where you can read, reflect, chill out, meditate and just be YOU. Fill it with things you love – fresh flowers, favourite photos, books and just enjoy the peace.

4) Read Something Wonderful

Books can change your life. Read uplifting, motivational, words or articles before you go to bed and you’ll wake up inspired.

5) Avoid the Box

Have one TV free night a week and limit your consumption of violent images. The world won’t end if you miss the 6 o’clock news. Play some music and feel the rhythem instead.

6) Start Feeling

..instead of thinking all the time. Ask yourself “how am I feeling” and learn to just experience the sensations of different feelings in your body and learn to honour those feelings. Your mind doesn’t always have the answers, learn to listen to the wisdom of your heart.

7) Give up judging others………

The world just is. Let go of the need to classify everybody and everything as good, bad, right or wrong, including yourself. Try cultivating acceptance and forgiveness instead.

8) Take time for tea

The art of tea drinking is both therapeutic and restorative. Choose from green or other herbal varieties. Share a slow cuppa with a friend and just enjoy the moment. Ask about them and just listen to what they have to say.

9) Take responsibility

..for your responses. You have the power to choose how you respond to any situation. Become a living example of peace and compassion by responding from your heart. Give up the need to be right – choose peace instead.

10) Namaste

Try silently greeting everyone you meet or pass in the street with the ancient spiritual mantra “namaste” which simply means “The spirit in me honours the spirit in you” – you will be amazed at how people begin to respond to you in positive loving ways.
